Frequently Asked Questions
What is Klap's Zapier MCP integration?
Zapier MCP is Zapier's Model Context Protocol server: it turns actions from Zapier apps into tools for AI assistants. With Klap added, your assistant gets 6 tools: Create Clips, Find Project, Find Clips, Export Clip, Schedule Clip and Write Caption.
Zapier MCP or Klap's own MCP server: which should I use?
Klap's own MCP server (klap.app/mcp) has more tools, including transcripts, clips cut from a description or exact timestamps, translations, templates and uploads of local files, and needs no Zapier account. Use Zapier MCP when your assistant already works through Zapier and you want Klap next to your other apps, such as Slack, Gmail or Google Sheets.
Which AI assistants work with Zapier MCP?
Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf and any other client that connects to remote MCP servers. Zapier shows the setup steps for each one when you create your server.
Do I need an API key?
No. You sign in to Klap once, with OAuth, when you add Klap's tools to your Zapier MCP server. Zapier keeps the connection.
Can my assistant post without asking me?
Schedule Clip publishes to your social accounts, so only enable it if you want your assistant to post. Most clients ask for your approval before calling a tool, and on TikTok you choose who can see the post.
How much does it cost?
Connecting is free. What you do through the integration uses your Klap plan, exactly as on klap.app: clipping uses your video allowance, exports your export allowance, and scheduling needs a plan that includes it. You can start with Klap's free trial. Tool calls through Zapier MCP also count toward your Zapier plan's usage.
