Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a Klap node for n8n?

Yes. The community package n8n-nodes-klap adds a Klap node (create and get projects; get, export, schedule and caption clips; get exports; list social accounts) and a Klap Trigger (Project Ready, New Clip, Project Failed). It is published on npm and installs on self-hosted n8n; verification for n8n Cloud is in review.

How do I install n8n-nodes-klap?

On self-hosted n8n, go to Settings → Community Nodes, click Install and enter n8n-nodes-klap. Once n8n verifies the node, it also shows up in the nodes panel on n8n Cloud.

Which n8n version do I need?

n8n 2.12.0 or later. The Klap credential uses OAuth dynamic client registration, which n8n added in 2.12.0, so the same credential works on any instance without an API key.

Can the node work with video files instead of links?

Yes. Project → Create takes a binary file (MP4, MOV or WebM) from any node and uploads it to Klap, and Clip → Export can return the rendered MP4 as binary data.

Why does my self-hosted n8n fail to connect to Klap?

n8n sends Klap its OAuth callback URL, built from your instance's public URL. Set N8N_EDITOR_BASE_URL or WEBHOOK_URL to the address you open n8n at, then reconnect the credential.

How much does the n8n integration cost?

The node is free and open source. Connecting is free. What you do through the integration uses your Klap plan, exactly as on klap.app: clipping uses your video allowance, exports your export allowance, and scheduling needs a plan that includes it. You can start with Klap's free trial.

Put your clips on autopilot

Create a Klap account, connect n8n, and let every new video turn into ready-to-post shorts.
