Klap for Claude
Turn long videos into short vertical clips without leaving Claude. Klap finds the best moments in your video, reframes them to 9:16 around the speaker and adds animated captions. You can then watch the shorts, download them and schedule them to your social accounts, right in the conversation.
What you need
- A Klap account. Exports and scheduling follow your Klap plan (see plans).
- Claude on the web, or the Claude desktop or mobile app.
- To schedule posts: your social accounts connected in Klap, at klap.app/calendar.
Connect Klap
- In Claude, open Customize → Connectors, search for Klap and add it. You can also add it with Add → Add custom connector, named Klap, with the URL
https://api.klap.app/mcp/claude. - Sign in to your Klap account and click Allow. Claude can now use Klap in any conversation.
- To disconnect, open Customize → Connectors in Claude and disconnect Klap. Claude immediately loses access to your Klap account.

While Klap works on a video, a card in the conversation shows its progress, then turns into your shorts. Play them with their captions, download them, schedule them, or open them in the Klap editor to change captions, layout or length.

Klap only publishes a post after you confirm the short, the accounts, the time and the caption. For TikTok, you choose who can see the post; YouTube posts are public.
Troubleshooting
- My shorts aren't ready yet. Clipping a long video usually takes 10 to 20 minutes. The card updates on its own, and you can ask Claude later, for example “Are my shorts ready?”.
- Klap couldn't find clip-worthy moments. This happens with videos that have little speech. Try another video, or tell Klap what to look for.
- Downloading asks for confirmation. Claude asks before it opens a link outside the conversation, such as your MP4.
- No social account to schedule to. Connect your accounts at klap.app/calendar, then ask again. An account marked as needing reconnection must be reconnected there too.
- “Not included in your plan”. Some actions, like exports and scheduling, depend on your Klap plan.
- “Your Klap connection expired”. Reconnect Klap from Customize → Connectors in Claude.
Your data
Claude sends Klap only what each action needs, and Klap sends back what Claude needs to answer you. Klap never receives your Claude password or your conversations. Our privacy policy lists exactly what is exchanged.
